Wildwood United Methodist Church...Blessing for this food

While unloading the Monday Morning groceries, I placed the items on my dining room table for this picture.
I started thinking about the many blessing that have been said at this table.

My husband says a blessing asking for safe travel of our kids that have come home from college and if they are not able to be with us he ask for a blessing while they are away...a blessing for our extended family in Mississippi.  Once many years ago when my children were small, a blessing at our Easter table was given by one of my boys,   "...and please, Lord, don't let us get food poison from this food.  Amen."  Thankfully we did not get food poison that year, but we all did get a good laugh about that!

Growing up in Mississippi...my family blessing was..."God is great, God is good, let us thank him for this food.  Amen."

My husband who's family was from Alabama, their blessing was always said by his father...(with a deep voice)...."Lord make us truly thankful for this and our friends, forgive us our sins.  In Jesus Christ we pray. Amen."

I ask Sharon what blessing she remembered having Texas/German ancestors..."Come Lord Jesus be thou our guest and let this food to us be blessed.  Amen"

Do you have a special family blessing now or do you remember a family blessing from your childhood?
Please share with us in the comments.

Thanks to Sue, Eleanor, Madelyn, Donna, Robin and Sharon for spending their Monday Morning buying these groceries for Wildwood United Methodist Church, Magnolia, Texas.

The Coupon Angels Blessing..."We do pray for the blessing of this food that it will nourish the families that receive it.  Amen."

Anna's Two Cents... the Early edition

I had to make a trip to Kroger this morning since they have evaporated milk on sale for 69 cents per can which is much less than I pay for it at Walmart..... Don't tell my hubby since he will think that I totally  have lost it, but I bought 30 cans..... that should hold us for awhile!. Starbucks coffee was also on sale, so I stocked up on that too.
While I was there I went ahead and did most of my shopping for next week's food bank collection.
They are once again having the "buy 10 mix and match items" sale. You must buy in groups of 10.
Before I left home, I uploaded a coupon from the Kroger website onto my kroger card for Select Harvest soup. Not only was I able to use my paper coupons but the register also took my  ecoupon! All in all, I saved 78%.... I think that is a new high for me!
I did take a trip down the cereal aisle. In addition to the advertised Quaker Oats cereal sale, I noticed that Cap'nCrunch cereal is also on sale for $1.49.
I had coupons for Campbells"great for cooking" soups, Select Harvest and Chunky soups, and colgate toothpaste. I completed my group of 10 by buying some of the skinner pasta, on sale for only 38 cents!
I was able to purchase 20 items for only $6.76.
If this Sunday's paper has any additional coupons that will apply to this week's ad, I will post again on Sat.

Feel good Monday!

90 cans of soup!
54 Boxes of Cereal!
Plus a bunch more!

What a great Monday...
the first Monday in November!

The Coupon Angels were given a "treat"!
Someone left an envelope with a note and money at my door yesterday.

Rules were...
*Buy the Coupon Angels their cup of coffee this morning!

(I had a blast to meet each lady at the door with the surprise!)

*With the left over money buy for
StoneBridge Food Bank!

We had an extra $60 dollars to spend for groceries this week!
WOW!
Maybe that explains 90 cans of soup
and 54 boxes of cereal!!!

We filled two cars full of groceries to donate to Stonebridge!
And this is just the first Monday in November!
I can't wait to see what is store
for the rest of the month.

Thanks goes to Mary Jo, Anna, Sue, Eleanor, Madelyn, Lee Ann, Beverly &Tiger, Sharon, Donna and Kathy who brought over 2 bags of groceries!
It is a pleasure to see each and everyone of you
 on Monday Mornings!
and thank you to whoever left the kind note...thank you very much.

We hope you can come join us next Monday...can't promise a free cup of coffee...but can promise you will be blessed to help others in our neighborhood.
It is a "feel good" promise!
